A much needed break

Starting my 11 day trip to Krasnodar, I found myself in the upstairs waiting room at the Vladimir Train Station. When I found out there was a waiting room, I was looking foward to just sitting in a corner not having to deal with anyone. Unfortunately, the waiting room was built in the soviet era. I laughed to my self when I first came up the stairs and saw the ‘waiting room.’ I could see hundreds of people sitting and facing the TV that bombards them with Propaganda 24/7 before travelling.

On the 30 hour train ride I sat near a high school chess team on their way to a tournament in Sochi. We didn’t play any chess because they thought I was a master chess player after finding and suggesting a checkmate in 4 while they were practicing. I felt pretty cool, and I wasn’t going to tell them I sucked. Here is a photo of the train at night, its them sleeping because I couldn’t use my flash and my other photos are too dark.
train at nightI spent most of my time in Krasnodar either at home or at the Kuban State University. I was offered a job paying about 250$ a month teaching English when I’m done travelling abroad. I walked around a lot and played with Valeria, the niece of my friend I was visiting.
